Some places stay with you not because they’re flashy or famous, but because they offer something simple and genuine. Oroklini Beach, just off Dhekelia Road in Oroklini, has been one of those special spots for me since childhood.
It doesn’t make the usual “Top 10 Cyprus Beaches” lists maybe that’s exactly why it remains so unique. Tucked beside the Gold Fish Café, this stretch of coastline feels like a little hidden world: quiet, unpretentious, and deeply familiar.
Where It Starts
The spot I always return to is near the fish pond, where the sand meets the seawall and free parking is just steps from the shore. It’s not large, and it’s far from touristy. But the water is warm almost all year round, and on most days, it feels like a secret haven for those in the know.

There’s a public fitness zone nearby with some basic equipment nothing fancy, just enough for a light stretch after a swim. Most people come here to move slowly, not perform.
A Changing Area, Slowly
For years, this beach stayed under the radar. But lately, it’s started to get noticed. New roads have been paved. Some of the older hotels are finally renovating, and new ones are moving in like the Radisson Beach Resort, and Mercure Larnaca not far from it.

Even with the changes, though, this part of Oroklini has managed to keep its tone. It’s still quieter than the Larnaca seafront or Ayia Napa’s tourist strip. Still local. Still balanced.
Restaurants Worth Knowing
Just across the road, there’s a small row of shops and restaurants that’s been getting livelier every year. Honestly, I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve swung by Masala, KFC, or Ocean Basket especially after those long, sun-filled afternoons at the beach.

A Beach for the Simple Thing
Oroklini Beach has always been a place to breathe, float, and forget the clock for a while. Even with the changes happening around it, that peaceful spirit remains making it a perfect escape for those who appreciate the simple things in life.
